| Objectives: |
- tell the students to create
their own coin, giving it a value and creation of their own on the
front and back

| Materials: |
- computer with internet access
for each student
- printer
- Destination machine
|
| Preparation: |
- make sure all computers have www.usmint.gov
already up on the screens
- make sure the Destination
machine is also hooked up and ready to go
|
| Activities: |
- When students come into the
computer lab, have them sit around the Destination Machine
- Go through what they will be
doing, walking through the web site together
- Show an example of how to make
a coin using the web site
- Tell them they may make up
their own value
- When they are done, they need
to print out their coin

- Did you create a coin?
- Did you assign it a value?
- Did you print your work?
|
| Follow-up: |
- Have students write a story to
go along with the coin they've created.
- Have students share their
stories with the teacher and/or with the class.
